Red Nose Day

Published on Monday 25 March 2019 by Mr M Hall.

This year we were really excited to be raise money for Red Nose Day 2019! As one of the UK's biggest fundraising events, Red Nose Day brings the entire nation together to raise money and change lives. We used Red Nose Day as a learning opportunity to help our pupils explore the issues facing young children across the world, and how the money we raised can help. To do our bit and raise money we asked children to come to school wearing red clothes on Friday 15th March 2019.

We managed to raise a super total of £136! The money we raised will help people living really tough lives in the UK and across Africa. For example, £2.50 could buy a mosquito net to protect a family in Africa. In the UK, £5 could pay for an isolated elderly person with dementia to have dinner at their local support group.

'I really enjoyed the day, our classroom was full of red balloons but I felt sorry for the children in Africa who didn't have a home. I'm glad we raised lots of money to help them.' Niamh B, Class 2
